Change management ensures that any changes made in your team, organization, or process are efficient.
Steps/components of an action plan to follow when implementing a change management strategy:
Analyse the problem or opportunity motivating the change: This involves gathering information that will help in understanding the change opportunity or specific challenge.
Supporting and selecting a guiding change coalition.
Formulate a vision for change that is compelling and clear: it is creating a picture, expression, or signal that indicates separation from the past.
Communicating the vision: This is essential for generating support for change and awareness.
Mobilize energy, data, and resources for change.
Empower employees or stakeholders to act so that they can come up with new ideas or ways of working with the modification.
Promote and develop change-related ability and knowledge: change involves learning new skills and information, and the company should implement training to facilitate this change.
Identifying short term wins and using them as reinforcement for the change process.
Monitoring the change process and strengthening it over time.
Institutionalizing change in the company’s practices, management, and culture: After evaluating the impact of the process and monitoring how people have adapted to it, the final step is to implement it (Stouten, 2018).
Discuss two tools or techniques that could be used to implement change.
Flowcharts serve as a visual sketch of the idea for change. It helps people who do not have a broader view of the concepts and those who are not directly involved in the process visualize the change. Any change discussed and implemented can be added to the chart for future reference.
Force field analysis is a tool used for decision making and is also known as the barrier and aid analysis. It identifies forces against and for implementation of the proposed solution (Walkme team, 2019).
Conclusion.
The tools and steps of implementing an action plan ensure employees and stakeholders understand the reasons, benefits, expectations, processes, and vision of the change. The components and technics are also efficient and orderly, meaning they reduce the risk of the company being blindsided by a problem.
